Last Friday I went to Hitchcock Nature Center to volunteer again with banding hawks. When I first arrived at the banding station, I noticed some Eastern Bluebirds sitting on the poles to our nets and was hoping they wouldn't get caught in the nets after we set them up. My aunt and I got our nets all set up and settled in the banding station to start luring in hawks. Shortly after we started luring, I noticed something in one of the nets. My aunt and I walked out and it turned out to be this 1st year Cedar Waxwing. He was really tangled in the net but we managed to get him out and release him.
