In my last post I told all of you that I like to volunteer at a few local places, Hitchcock Nature Center being one of them. Well, I spent all day there on Saturday. To those of you who haven't read my last post, I volunteer there by banding hawks as they're going South for the fall migration.
It was a really busy day and we ended up banding 12 hawks that day. We caught 5 Red-tailed Hawks, 1 Cooper's Hawk, and 6 Sharp-shinned Hawks. We also had groups of people visit the banding station from the Audubon Society of Omaha. Thankfully, we had plenty of birds show up while they were there so they could see them up close.
